Meh. Greasy diners are a dying breed and not without good reason. If it wasn't against the law, the waitresses would have cigarettes dangling from their lips. Some people reading this are saying to themselves, "Oh my GOD! I LOVE those kinds of places!!" It's some kind of nostalgia and so you should go here if that's what you're looking for. The food is good and the wait staff is nice. It's just too cramped and greasy for my personal taste.

My husband and I stopped for lunch at the Honey Bee Diner in Glen Burnie, MD. The place has a bit of a retro feel. It was clean and the wait staff was friendly. The food was good...not spectacular but good. Most of the diners were having breakfast but we opted for lunch...it was about noon...and waited about 45 minutes for our order. I don't like to be rushed...which is what you usually get in chain restaurants but this took way too long. Will I go back? Perhaps...I wouldn't go out of my way though.

The Honey Bee is a solid diner. Don't come in expecting anything fancy. If you want a breakfast at 2 am, a cup of coffee and a slice of pie or a nice greasy hamburger, The Honey Bee is my favorite. It's comfort food and if you're having a craving for something you're familiar with they will have it on their extensive menu. The staff is friendly, the food is good (and reasonably priced) and the place is clean. I've lived in the area for 27 years and have been going to The Honey Bee for as long as I can remember. When my friends come back into town for a visit, it's where we go to catch up over coffee, and the staff never hurries us out when our plates are empty, they just keep the coffee coming.

Honey Bee used to be my go-to place for diner fare, particulary at breakfast on the weekends - especially since the Double T Diner was always packed and severely over-priced. However, today, I went in and didn't get waited on. The service hasn't always been very good, but with my frequent visits, I had managed to develop some familiarity with some of the waitresses and had dealt with it. But today was the last straw. Since none of the owners were in, and they don't have an official website, I was unable to complain in person. But I sat at that diner for nearly 20 minutes and no one had taken my order, although the patrons around me who arrived after me were already being served their food. So my advice, the food is okay, but you must have lots of patience and endurance with the staff if you choose to eat here. I will NEVER eat here again!

The food is pretty good but the service is inconsistent. This morning, my wife's order was mangled and the waitress heard our complaint, didn't say a word, looked inconvenienced, took the incorrect food, and ordered the correct order. It was utterly transactional with no human touch at all. Very, very disappointing and the second time this has happened to us there. We won't go back until they have a new batch of wait staff to check out. Very sad because the decor is wonderful and the food is good.

Self seating. The place is small. They should expand a little bit because they get a lot of business. The remodeled look is nice too. The sausage patties aren't that great. Try the fresh fruit crepes w/ syrup. Amazing. Great service. I wish they were a little cheaper though. Parking isn't that great. Other than that, I would eat there again.

Let me preface this by saying I have never been here sober. Honey Bee is a really cool, old-style diner that is open late for after-club diet-breakers. The service is really great, probably because my waitress always seems to be a veteran server with lightning in her feet and plates in her hands at all times. The servers are always very understanding of the lethal amounts of alcohol pumping through the veins of my friends and I. They are subsequently very patient with us attempting to vocalize our orders and even offer English translations of the Drunklish we speak at 4 a.m. I CANNOT tell you what is on the menu, since I can't usually read the menu or drive straight by the time I arrive inside this retro eatery. I CAN tell you the food is greasy, heavy, and delicious.

Went with a group of friends & was very disappointed. Terrible service! The tables weren't even clean when we got seated, waited 30 mins for our food to come out. My friends ordered chicken parm & I got a cheesesteak. Mine was the very last to come out. Which should be the easiest thing to make!

The ambience is kind of cool, since they just renovated. Unfortunately, they should have gotten rid of our waitress along with the old decor. She was unfriendly to the point of making it uncomfortable to be waited on by her. When she screwed up my order (which I can live with, it happens), she was nasty about it. Then when it was almost time for us to pay (i.e. leave a tip?) she got nice. The food was run of the mill. We will NOT be going back. The manager is very nice, but he needs to can this old lady.

If you want diner food, blow off Denny's&come here. The atmosphere is amazingly friendly. 24/7 means great place to go when you wanna eat diner food at 3 in the morning. They remodeled&added new staff, but most stayed&they are as nice as ever.

Amazing honey mustard and chicken fingers, srsly...service can get a little snippy with you though if you order chicken "fingers" and not "strips"...exact quote (in a perfect glen burnie accent): "we don't HAVE chicken FINGERS, we have chicken STRIPS" lol

First time as I was looking for a local place. All I saw was chain after chain and then Honey Bee. It is under some construction, but still open. It has all the great qualities of a diner. Look, feel and even the older experienced friendly servers. A grill right behind the counter and striped booths. A slightly smaller diner menu than normal, but all the standards. i opted for the grilled cheese, bacon on rye with a side of fries. I know, simple, but it is the simple things that people can screw up. They cooked it perfect and the fries were real fries, not the over prepped seasoned things. Good potatoes that are just fried. Desserts were a little disappointing, I did not have one as it was all pre-sliced pies and just not that appetizing. Just the right diner experience. Definitely worth the stop and open 24 hours, so I know a place I will head at 2am, when I need a bite to eat.

It's a diner nothing more. You go there to eat some food. You should not execpt anything super good. But its not super bad at all either.

The Honey Bee is always consistently good and offers a huge menu. I usually have breakfast food at night / early morning. The omelets, pancakes and egg sandwiches and subs are all great. Inside it looks like a classic 50s diner and since MD outlawed smoking in restaurants it is a quite pleasant place to eat. Enjoy! D. J.

2 1/2 stars for Honey Bee Diner. When i first walked in a waitress told me to seat myself and someone would be right with me. I sat at a booth for 6 minutes with no menu and watched as 3 waitresses stood around doing nothing before one of them came over to give me a menu. I orderes 2 scrambled eggs with bacon, home fries, toast and a side of sausage links. My order came out in 2 minutes, which tells me it was not made to order. I saw this with several other customers, their orders came out as soon as they ordered. My breakfast was ok and the waitress was friendly when she finally came around.

We he great service and really enjoyed our meals. I've had some pretty awful dinner food before, and this place I felt did a great job. Really enjoyed my fried chicken meal, and my partner really enjoyed her breakfast pancakes and sides. I will say, the FC was a bit greasy, and my milkshake tasted about as artificial as possible, but again, it's a dinner. I don't exactly have the highest of expectations.

Well 1st of all I'm impressed with the service!!!! Then they brought hot mini muffins to get up started.. more to come. Yumm yumm!! All the food we ordered were great the servers knew just how to treat us! I can't wait to come back when I'm in town again.

I frequent this diner often. I've never had anything that I didn't like. And I'm very easy when it comes to food to please. Let me hurry on. Since the end of February of this year my life had been basically living for my Dad. My siblings and I were on day to day care of our hero our father who transitioned on June 10, 2015. Even though I can cook, because time constraints and late nights of making sure dad was comfortable cooking was not an option. The Honey Bee kept me fed and with gracious, kind and humorous service that got me through the caring and passing of my dad and my pastor. I cannot say enough of how they unaware helped me to go through this life changing period of my life. I'm grateful for the great food and especially for kind and humorous banter.

This is the most Baltimore diner I've ever been too. Seriously. It doesn't scream "I'M FROM BALTIMORE" like some places do, but the people who work and come here and so full of local flavor it doesn't even matter if the food is good. That being said, everyone is friendly. The food thankfully is good. I got the crepes and I ate the whole thing because it was damned delicious. Or maybe it was 1:30am on a Friday night. Either way I will be back.

Ate here at around 1 on a Sunday. The place was packed to the gills, meaning they are clearly doing something right. Despite the long lines, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress, an older lady was definitely on top of things. She seemed much more competent than other waitstaff half to even a quarter of her age. Clearly she knows what she is doing and is an important asset to this place. We ordered a couple sandwich combos and a kids pancake meal. Most of the food was good, but there were some complaints. The bacon was burnt on several sides, almost charred. My wife ordered the athena and thought it was decent. My philly cheese steak wrap was good, but I was surprised that they used american/cheese whiz. Major disappointment. Another issue we had, there were items on the menu that are no longer available. Not "we're out for today" but "we stopped serving that because it wasn't popular enough". Why is it still offered on the menu then? Parking was another area of concern. It is a large diner with a small parking lot. When this place is hoppin', parking is at a premium. Not sure the remedy for this, but it is definitely an issue during their busy times.

Great place to grab some good quick and cheap food. The sevice is amazing. They make you feel like you're family. This is like a neighborhood dinner where everyone knows eachother. And if you are new your welcomed with giant smiles. They absolutely love children and give honest opinions and recomendations abt food. The food is exactly as described on the menu. The crabcake melt is delish. Waffles are huge. Me and my hubby have had breakfast here for $20 you caint beat it!

The food here is so gross. Especially the breakfast. If you want to be on a fast track to a heart attack, eat here. Everything is smothered in grease. This is the place to go when you're drunk as f*ck and your DD is willing to take you to get food. But, it's a Glen Dirty, I mean Glen Burnie, staple, and so has a very loyal following.

Really good food and such nice, old school service. We went with our cousins who live near by right before we went to the airport. They have great old school diner food. My big excitement was that they have egg beaters. I love egg beaters and they can be a bit hard to find at times. They also have the most killer greasy fried potatoes. LOVE! They are somewhere between homefries and hashbrowns. Sooo good. They also have veggie burgers (total win for us vegetarian folks). The best part was rice pudding and she warmed it up for me all old school style. They also have bread pudding and Smith Island Cake - 2 things that total remind me of childhood in Maryland. Great little diner. It's packed for a good reason

Being from New York, I have high expectations when it comes to quality diners. But in this case, Honey Bee doesn't even meet the expectations of Maryland diners, especially when compared to some of the others in the direct area. After a very long day of work on a Sunday for a special event, I and three co-workers came here for a quick, impromptu dinner. While I have to say the prices were reasonable, that may have been the only positive here. We ordered two different appetizers and had to wait some minutes until our waitress realized we didn't have small plates or even utensils. I noticed the windowsill next to our booth was filthy when I put my arm up there to rest. No one was impressed with the appetizers, but no one hated them either. The chili I ordered didn't make it out before we were eating our appetizers and when the waitress asked me if I still wanted it, it still never came. We all ordered four very different entrees: chop sirloin, chicken parm, meatball sub, and chicken sandwich. The meatballs in the sub looked like mystery meat. The sirloin was dry. The sauce for the chicken parm definitely came from a can. Lastly, as I was paying our bill, I needed a copy of the itemized receipt for expense purposes. You would've thought I asked the cashier to re-program her register as she had a very difficult time remembering how to do this. I was just so exhausted I wanted to go home. Again, I know this is an old-school place, but I won't be returning. I certainly can't recommend to others.

Great Diner with a nice selection on the menu. Friendly waitresses, but it took a while to get the order. I had the turkey club with fries and only ate one quarter of the sandwich. Finished the fries first and couldn't finish the sandwich. Very good food.

I went recently and it was so understaffed that we left after 15 minutes. I think the cook was trying to help guests. Went back after having a few at Crossroads. It was good. I could have done without the hot lettuce on the gyro wrap but the food was good. Basic food. My friends liked their food too. Our server was awesome! We tipped her 50%.

Went for lunch and got a hamburger with chips, WOW, this exceeded my expectations. The burger was cooked to perfection, really big patty, came with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles..and I got extra pickles which I usually have to ask for but didn't. A small side of coleslaw and potato chips. Really good price for good food.

Exactly what you would expect in a diner. Delicious inexpensive food and old school charm. Large portions. Crowded but that's to be expected in a place this good. Service was a little lacking but they were slammed. Recommend the chicken florentine crepes with hollandaise sauce. Yummy!

Lot of food in a serving. We asked if we could have eggs whites instead and she said yes. Then the bill showed that we were charged extra. Waitresses not that bright. we know we can substitute whatever we want, we were asking if there was an extra charge, and they never tell you. Waitress didnt know what the difference between cream pie was and marengue. Food is good but frustrating service

This place has the best breakfast food. The pancakes are delicious and fluffy, eggs cooked perfectly, and a great selection of breakfast meats. Not too mention the customer service is top notch. The food comes out hot and doesn't take long. They brought us an extra stack of pancakes because they thought the ones we ordered weren't big enough. Funny thing is we were fine with the ones they brought, but they were not and wanted to keep their customers happy and to take the extra pancakes home (sweet). This is my kind of establishment. We will be back!!!!!

Typical run of the mill diner. Service was decent enough, I'll probably return because it's within walking distance of the tavern my friends frequent. :)

Being somewhat senior-challenged by the extensive menu, my wife and I were overwhelmed with the up-close personal guidance tastefully offered by Angie. "Are the mashed potatoes real?" Absolutely! Mashed fresh daily. "How fresh is the egg salad?" Made to order when ordered. Room for dessert? Don't pass on their signature rice pudding topped with whipped cream. Angie is definitely on our list of Honey Bee delights.

Went when it was completely packed on a Saturday, were seated immediately after the first table left. Service was a little slow, which was understandable as it was a full house, prices were reasonable, the food took all of 10 minutes before it was on our table which was impressive given that they were packed. The food was nothing special, my Honey Bee Skillet Wrap was fairly lackluster in flavor and needed something to lesson the dryness of all the ingredients that made it up. I asked for some sour cream and it made the wrap much better. Everyone else had no real complaints with their food. It was okay diner food, reasonable prices, nothing great. But since it is so close to our home we will probably be returning!

Love Love Love this place for breakfast! Yes there is a reason it is always packed. Great food Good service fun staff. I love coming here and the Equality MD sticker on the door assures my partner and I we are definitely supporting the right establishment.

The HoneyBee is a 3 1/2 to 4 star diner. Don't come here expecting anything fancy or some special dish like you see on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives". HoneyBee does have good, home made style dishes and, of course, breakfast 24-hours a day. The breakfast menu is vast and the omelets are great. For a true treat you should ask for the home-fries to be deep fried! The daughter loves the hamburger special and I live the Monte Carlo; it's similar to a Ruben but with cole slaw vice sauerkraut. Yummy! HoneyBee is a timeless classic in Glen Burnie, MD!

I seriously have a love-hate relationship with this place. ....Love it when I'm drunk; Hate it when I'm sober. Loves--mashed potatoes & gravy, corned beef hash, chicken fried steak--not on the sandwich, meatloaf, late night breakfast food. -clean dining area -clean bathroom -fast friendly service Hates--meatloaf, chicken fried steak sandwich -slow, non-smiling service during morning/brunch hours -bus boys slam the dishes in the bus pan in a frenzy to clear the table for the next group (it gets very busy in there) Overall, it's a good clean place to go after hours, after drinking; otherwise there are better places to go for breakfast.

Love this place! I have been coming here since I was a teenager. I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. I have moved out of state but my husband and I always make this our go to spot when we are back in town. Food is great. People are great. What more can you ask for. You just have to see for yourself.

  • Tiffany Z.

I would have given 4 stars but the service was unacceptable. While it was a Saturday morning when we went, all of the tables weren't filled and there was no reason for the lack of attention by our server. Took 10-15 minutes for her to come take our order after she had been great with our drinks when we sat down. You could see that she was frazzled about the 5 tables she had but there really was no reason for the wait. The meaty cheesy omelet that I had was delicious and I would definitely go back again to try something else. My husband had the chicken fried steak and he said "it wasn't bad." We ordered the french toast for my son and he loved it and the side of bacon. It seems like everyone has a hit or miss experience so just go and check it out for yourself.

Honey Bee Diner, is a Diner located off of route 2. Serving a long list of diner, approved meals. Most of my visit have been for their breakfast only: eggs, bacon and maybe pancakes. The food is bland generally and doesn't leave much room for creativity, I never expected their food to be outstanding anyways.

Fast friendly service. My food was nothing to drool over but it was edible. I would try it again and go for the breakfast fare.

Exceptional service. They were slammed and still able to seat us in less than 10 mins. Spectacular food. We ordered two breakfasts and two lunches. The fries were amazing! We ate and left in less than an hour ordering multiple drinks.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and really authentic experience. Highly recommend! I got an the omelet with creole sauce and it was excellent. The homefries are insane and I love sitting at the bar and watching the cooks work.

My opinion ... We really like this place. The prices, quality, and portions were all good. We have been for both dinner and breakfast. It was fairly quiet during dinner time and easy to get a table. When we went for Saturday breakfast, it was the opposite and the place was packed. Since they have a lot of tables and parking, there was no issue. I do not think we waited for more than a few minutes on a table for two. I do remember the waitress being really nice the last time we were there.

    (4)
  • Rick W.

Maybe it was low expectations or just pure hunger, but, I actually found the food in this place pretty good. Everything I had was fresh and prepared properly. I didn't like seating myself because I saw people come in after me be waited on first, but, that was probably just the hunger making me take notice. Other than that, I really enjoyed eating there. The prices weren't bad, maybe a little high for a diner, but, the food was fresh and I thought it was worth it.

  • Rudy C.

Ok so I have to say this upfront - I have never been here sober lol! I have been here about 4 times and each time I couldn't remember actually being there, well except for the last time. It is a popular spot for my friends and me after a long night of debotury. Now although I was slightly intoxicated I was still able to appreciate all that this little slice of breakfast heaven has to offer. It is not that big inside and surprisingly busy at 3 AM on Saturday morning, I'm only guessing everyone else was in the same state of mind. So I have no idea what to order, I want something sweet and something savory, something that satisfies that deep hunger that I have burning inside me. I go ahead and order waffles and an order of chicken strips. Boom! Instant chicken and waffles. I was not disappointed. The waffles were plenty big and the chicken was just right. Add a little syrup and I was good to go. My other friends ordered various items and they were pleased as well. The waitress was really nice and made sure the water was flowing the whole time. Overall the ambiance is likening to an old style diner, but with a little touch of modern flavor. I will definitely come back here, probably after another long night, but I know that I wont be disappointed. Come here for good food, good service, and good ways to sober up!

Went here tonight with a gift card deal from restaurant.com . Saw some decent reviews so I thought it would be a good place. Boy was I wrong.. The waitress took our drink order right away, then came back about 10 minutes later asking for it again because she thought nobody had gotten to us yet.. While waiting on drinks and food, noticed that my fork was covered in old food, and the lamp had dead flies in it. Pretty sure this place hasn't been deep-cleaned in a while. When we got our food, it looked decent, although my ham steak with pineapple was missing the pineapple. The ham was really dry, and I couldn't really get anywhere with eating it because it was so displeasing. I definitely won't be back here, thats for sure. Poor food, sub-par service, and dirty.

  • Renee B.

Breakfast here was delicious. Western omlet with home fries, side of bacon and coffee. The manager even got us started with a menu. He was a true team player. The reason they lost points were because although they were busy the uniforms seemed to be dingy and dirty. Not just from a few spills. Not sure if I wanna give this place a thumbs up or down. Glad the waiters were not preparing the food but, it made you wonder.

Love this diner. There is a male manager there that truly makes the whole place ROCK! He has his eyes on everything and values his customers. The wait staff is lovely (although sometimes too stressed out and not mindful of customers personal space or their own manners). The food is perfect, the portions are huge and the prices are right. Excellent establishment that my family and I visit weekly.

This place has been around forever, and I've been going there since I was a kid. But really, for being so popular in this area, I'm not super impressed. Their food isn't anything special, and the prices aren't great either. I feel like it's all stuff I could make at home with the same quality. The wait staff is alright, not spectacular but not bad.

  • Carrie D.

It's an ok diner if you are in the area. I would not make a special trip to eat here though. The food is ok - nothing special. I do, however, have to commend the place for its waitstaff - they were all attentive and friendly.

You know I'm from PA when I judge every diner by it's creamed chipped beef (or dry beef gravy, depending on what you call it). And here at the Honey Bee, it's awesome. I met a friend for a very impromptu breakfast this morning-- just grabbed the kid and the diaper bag and off we went. My first impression was of the dirty floor... definitely was in need of a good vacuuming (the lobby rug) and mopping. Jackie was a gracious server, and extremely attentive to our needs. The food was great.. but again, the lack of attention to cleanliness really bothered me. I'd definitely go back, and would hope that it'll be straightened up next time. One thing.. be careful how you order. I asked for an extra egg on my order and for half a waffle for my son.. and they charged me $22 because the egg and half a waffle a la carte was $12. Eek!

Very friend diner. The food is great, the service is great. They remodeled the place, upgraded their computer system. The only issue I had was we went during the busiest time, and we had a waitress not familiar with their process. She was still apoligetic and friendly. the next time we go will be at night, maybe after a gig since they are open 24/7. DJ Danny T

Honey Be Diner is what you would expect from a diner. The inside has recently been remodeled. I'm not sure how long ago but it looked new and clean. The food was good. We ended up getting Biscuits and Gravy, and the Chicken Fried Steak Egg Platter. Both were good, a little greasy but what else would you expect from a diner. Our service was great. Even though she had a lot of tables she was still there when we needed a refill or just to make sure that we were okay. We will probably go back with out son because he would like a place like this. I would recommend it to a friend that wanted breakfast.

This place was very disappointing! My boyfriend and I took 2 bites of our food and left. I had ordered a turkey melt sandwich with fries. The turkey smelled and tasted a bit funny. The fries were crinkle cut, frozen fries that did not even taste good. My boyfriend got a hot turkey melt with mashed potatoes and gravy. His turkey had tasted the same as mine and the gravy was awful. We will never eat here again. We just paid our bill and left.

We stopped into Honey Bee last night because we were in Glen Burnie and a friend suggested it. I love diner food, but man, was this a disappointment! Service was extremely slow. Food was mediocre, if not bad. Protip: when prime rib only costs $13.99, it probably isn't very good. My baked potato was raw in the middle. My friend, who is like a garbage disposal and will eat anything, couldn't finish his chicken Chesapeake because the sauce was so bad. I don't think we'll be back.

I like diners. I like diner food. And I like the small town, local feel of a diner. The regulars, the usuals, and the quick, greasy food. This diner wasn't terrible but the service was. It took 10 minutes to get a water and the milkshake I ordered was ice cream with milk poured over it - it was barely mixed or "shaked." I ordered the turkey burger and it was huge (and tasty). The plate was overflowing with french fries. Be prepared to wait 20 minutes for your order - the place wasn't empty, but it wasn't busy either. The waitress kept apologizing and thanking us for our patience - which was nice - until she disappeared after we received our food. Needless to say, no refills, but we did get our checks and hopped out of the booth as soon as we got them. Food was good. Service and timing ruined the experience.

My family and I come here quite often, it is a very nice place to come and get a bite to eat. The food has always been good, none of us have ever walked away from here regretting having come. I love the California Club Wrap, it is always made to perfection. If you are looking for a small home town feeling kind of place to get good food at anytime this is a good place to go.

I took my visiting parents here for breakfast and we had a really good experience. We were seated immediately after entering even though they were busy, and we received excellent service throughout. Everyone was happy with their order and we would definitely go back again.

Being from New Jersey I have yet to find a great diner outside of the state. I give this place props for being open 24/7. It is a good go to when it is late and you want a wide variety, or breakfast after a night out. The food was average, nothing to write home about but sometimes you just need a diner and this is the only place we have found that is open past 8pm. They are currently undergoing a renovation which makes it a bit unappealing visually but hopefully will be finished soon. They have a ton of TVs but each is on a different channel and they all have the sound on so you are hearing one show while watching another. That was a bit annoying. I am sure we will be going back because, like I already said, they are the only place that is open 24 hours besides McDonalds.

Tasty food, big portions, fair prices. I can see why this place was packed on a Friday night. Service can be hit or miss, but the food is really good. Definitely going back!

The service is great. The ladies that work their are really nice. The food is good, nothing special. I like the orange juice. Just a normal home cooked breakfast.

My girlfriend and I love Honey Bee! The menu is classic diner meals and the atmosphere matches. The wait staff are as human as it gets and it's refreshing to see them interact with everyone as if they were part of the family. The food is delicious and coffee is piping hot. If you haven't been there since they renovated the place then you need to stop by and check it out!
